Building upon technology that has kept the Nordlys II detector at the forefront of speed, sensitivity and SEM compatibility, NordlysF+ now achieves indexed mapping speeds of at least 600Hz (points per second)!
NordlysF+ not only has high speed above 600Hz, which is ideal for all dynamic studies, such as in-situ tensile experiments, but also an infra-red (IR) filter suited for heating experiments.
The NordlysF+ permits indexed mapping speeds of at least 600Hz, depending on the SEM’s ability to deliver about 12nA of probe current. 98% indexing was achieved on a test sample.
Unlike conventional EBSD detectors, the new NordlysF+ detector does not require a special high temperature phosphor screen during heating experiments. This is because the IR filter blocks only near the IR range without blocking EBSD signal and therefore does not have the drawbacks imposed by a conventional phosphor screen with aluminium coating.
